Hello Fellow Tall Ship Admirers,
We are sending this to update you on how the Tall Ship Fiddlers Dream restoration is progressing and to let you know some of the exciting events that are coming up. Deck plank installation is still in progress and about 25% complete. Don’t forget to purchase your deck plank piece. This is a perfect valentine gift for the person who has everything. All Deck Plank Pieces are 6 inches long. If you have forgotten the purchase price here is a reminder.
Covering Board Plank – planks used at the outside curved edge of the deck, 8 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick- $200
King Plank – planks used down the center of the deck, 8 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick – $150
Deck Plank – planks used to cover the remaining of the deck, 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick – $100
The work parties to perform the deck plank installation will be advertised on our web site or social media and those who have volunteered will be sent the information directly via email.
There is usually something going on every weekend so join in or come check out the progress.
When the deck planking is completed we will have a celebration (Whiskey Plank Party) and invites will go out to our supporters. Look for this announcement in upcoming newsletters and our website/social media.
Our volunteers are doing great work and the
Shipwrights are very happy with the results of the
hard work they are doing. Here is a picture of

One of the events we are involved with is the
Fat Tuesday Parade at the Clearwater Casino.
We are building a parade float for this event
and work parties are announced on our Facebook
page. The float has to be turned into the Casino
on February 14 so if you can help please join us. After the float is turned in everyone has
14 days to vote on the best float. You can obtain your “Golden Ticket” from the Kitsap Maritime office or you can get them at the Casino. Every ticket placed at our float is a vote. The float with the most votes wins $3,000. Last year we got 4th place so we are hoping for 1st place this year. This is definitely a win/win. You get to go to the casino for fun and/or food and while there vote for our float which will give us more funds to complete the Fiddlers Dream. All votes have to be placed at the casino prior to 6pm on February 28th.
We now have an intern from the “Pathways to Success”
program. This is a great program helping young people
learn a trade or occupation that will result in employment.
He is joining our shipwrights and volunteers to learn
shipbuilding and woodworking. His name is Francis
Woodruff. If you see him at our work areas please say

next Kitsap Great Give. This is a great way to donate
to any of your favorite non-profit organizations and there
are matching funds given by the sponsors of the event.
We will be giving you more details as the date gets closer.
Thanks to all of those that have donated in the last few months. The amount we now need to raise is about $190,000. Always looking for new ways to receive donations, we now have a “Go Fund Me Page”. You can view it by going to our Facebook page or you can go directly

Amazon Smile – If you want to order something through Amazon, go to www.smile.amazon.com and choose Kitsap Maritime as your charity of choice. Then order what you want and .5% will go to Kitsap Maritime at no additional cost to you. It’s a great program and we hope you take advantage of it.
Memberships into Kitsap Maritime Heritage Foundation – There are different levels that offer discounts and other items for being a member and these are described on our web site. They are anywhere from $40 to $1500. At this time we are offering these memberships for a 2 year period. This means it will start on January 1, 2017 and end December 31, 2018. As a member you will also receive the newsletters and other information keeping you informed of what your organization is doing.
Deck Plank Piece – As described above you can own a “piece” of Fiddlers Dream by purchasing a Deck Plank Piece.
Cash Donation – Just contact us and we will be glad to assist you with your donation.
In Kind Donation – We are always looking for tools and equipment to help with restoration. If you have something you think we can use, give us a call and we will let you know.
Remember, all of your donations are tax deductible since we are a nonprofit organization.
