Ahoy Fellow Tall Ship Admirers,

Ahoy Fellow Tall Ship Admirers, Kitsap Maritime has formed a fund raising/event committee and our first meeting was great. We decided to have an auction of items that have been donated. We are looking for those items which could be an object, a certificate, a service or anything that your imagination can think of that others would enjoy and bid on. We already have a 2 night stay at a Beach House in Hansville that has been donated. Once we have gathered the donated items we will start the auction on Facebook. For those that have a Facebook account, look for it and then share with all of your friends. We will notify you of the date the items go up for bid. This will be a great way to raise funds to help complete our restoration.

The progress on Fiddlers Dream continues. September was spent on the interior of the boat and painting. Our chart house is almost finished and we are milling wood to finish off the interior of the cabin. Our Pathways to Success interns and our volunteers continue to progress Fiddlers Dream so we can perform our mission.

Brownsville Appreciation Days 2017 was a big success. We welcomed the group from JBLM (Joint Base Lewis McChord) who helped with tours and some polishing the brass port holes. It was great to see all of the activity around the Fiddlers Dream. We managed to make a few dollars from the silent auction that we had. So all in all it was good for BAD. Our next event is Haunted Harbor “Scare Away Hunger”. It is on October 27 from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. We are looking for volunteers to help with the “Ghost Ship” that Fiddlers Dream becomes. Just a few moans and groans and scary noises as well as shadow figures will add to the fun of this event. Hope you can make it. Just a reminder of all the ways to support Fiddlers Dream, the floating classroom:
